WHAT IS CARIBBEAN EKCO?

EKCO Nation is an organization dedicated to promoting positive music, media and content by local and regional Caribbean Gospel music artistes. We believe that this is a key element to creating opportunities for positive impact for Caribbean artistes and youth, and countering the negative culture influencing our communities. These objectives are the impetus for “Caribbean EKCO: One People, One Sound”, the 2nd annual Caribbean EKCO Festival to be held from October 4-13, 2018.

On the heels of our successful inaugural Caribbean EKCO festival as part of CARIFESTA XIII hosted in Barbados last year, this year’s exciting festival will comprise of a mega concert, school tours, prison outreach concert and workshops for writers and artistes. This programme of events will assist  Caribbean artistes in the development and promotion of their craft as well as foster strategies for constructive engagement of our youth.

In addition to regional artistes we have invited promoters, managers and other executives in the music industry from the US and the UK to build network with participating artistes and educate them on how to be successful in penetrating these markets.

WE BELIEVE…

Today, there is a great need to reach our generation with a positive message that is relatable to them and culture shifting. Caribbean Gospel Music, Media and the Arts is that vehicle and God is calling forth a Sound out of the Caribbean, that will change our Nations and impact the World.

VISION

To engage the Christian Community into positively impact Caribbean Nations and Culture through the proclamation and promotion of the Gospel using the universal language of music, performing arts and media; and to see this impact extended globally.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Promote Christian Caribbean Music & Artistes
  • Create opportunities for sale & distribution Caribbean Gospel Music
  • Provide showcase opportunities before international Gospel Industry executives and global tour operators
  • Educate Artistes on strategies towards creating better globally marketable portfolios, PR and Marketing campaigns
  • Educate Artistes about other financially sustainable strategies
  • Foster deeper networking between artistes, writers, church leaders, promoters and other industry stakeholders
  • Create opportunities for Christian Artistes and Writers to engage and create collaborative works
  • Engaging Artistes in using Music & Arts to evangelize the Gospel
  • Discovering strategies towards Caribbean Gospel being exported and embraced globally (especially in key markets in the US & UK)
